Should I choose the 82°C or 71°C thermostat?

The 82°C unit is factory spec and what we recommend for most owners. Choose the 71°C unit if you regularly tow heavy loads, live somewhere hot, or your Surf already runs warmer than ideal — it opens earlier and keeps the engine cooler under sustained load.

Does this kit fit the V6 5VZ-FE Surf?

Yes — select the VZN130 / VZN185 variant. The V6 variant comes with the correct part-number thermostat (90916-03075) and the right fan setup for the 5VZ-FE engine.

Yes. The kit is designed for DIY install. The 10-blade fan is a direct bolt-on swap, the viscous hub oil top-up takes a few minutes with the fan removed, and the thermostat is a standard cooling-system replacement. Plan for 1-2 hours and have fresh coolant on hand.
