FAQ

What does an FCD-1 actually do? The 1KZ-TE factory ECU cuts fuel at a preset boost level (around 18–20 psi). The FCD-1 sits in the boost-sensor signal and bleeds it back to the ECU — letting you run higher safe boost without the cut.

Will my MAP sensor see real boost? The factory ECU sees a clipped signal; the actual intake-manifold boost reads on the Turbosmart gauge. Important — tune for the real boost, not the gauge clip.

Do I need a tune with this? For modest boost increases (up to ~22 psi), no — the FCD-1 alone unlocks safe extra power. For bigger turbos and higher boost, yes.
