Why Surf Syndicate exists
Surf Syndicate was born in 2021 out of pure frustration. Our founder, Campbell, a die-hard Toyota Hilux Surf fan, was tired of chasing down parts from a million different places to upgrade his rig.
He wasn't alone. The Hilux Surf and 4Runner community is a passionate bunch, and customising these trucks is a huge part of the ownership experience. But finding the right parts, at the right price, from a reliable source, used to feel like an endless task.
That's where Surf Syndicate comes in. We're more than just a store — we're a community of Surf and 4Runner enthusiasts who share your passion for these legendary vehicles. We understand your desire to personalise your ride, tackle any terrain, and chase the next epic adventure.
Meet the founder
Campbell is a Kiwi Surf owner of 8+ years who started the business after cracking the head on his own 1KZ-TE and paying thousands of dollars to put it right. The experience turned into a mission: source the parts, learn the platform inside out, and make sure no other Surf owner had to go through the same pain.
Since 2021, Surf Syndicate has supplied parts to over 1,000 Hilux Surf and 4Runner owners across New Zealand, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Japan, and Canada. Campbell still answers every customer email personally and the same truck he built the business around — a 3rd Gen KZN185 — is still in the driveway and used as a development mule.
