The front of a 3rd Gen is one of the most-modified areas — the factory grille is fine, but a TRD grille, a Satoshi insert, or a slotted/mesh insert changes the whole face of the truck. Direct-fit to the factory grille opening, no fab work.

Every grille on this page is direct-fit for the 3rd Gen 4Runner / Hilux Surf, 1996–2002 (N180/N185), covering KZN185, RZN185 and VZN185. Some inserts also fit late 2nd Gen (N130) — listings call out cross-fit where it applies.

What's a Satoshi grille? It's the trend named after Satoshi-san, a Japanese 4Runner owner who started the look — replacing the factory grille with a slotted/mesh insert and a clean centre Toyota badge. Cleans up the front end massively.

Do these clip in or bolt on? The grille assemblies (TRD, OEM-style) bolt to the factory grille mounting points. Inserts slide into the factory grille frame.

Will the OEM Toyota badge still fit? Yes — and many Satoshi builders prefer the Custom Toyota Badge (heritage script) over the factory oval emblem. Both are options on the site.
