The bonnet protector clips onto the front edge of the bonnet using the existing holes underneath. The fitting is quick. The part that matters is the small rubber bumpers, which stop the protector ever rubbing your paint.
Before you start
Read through the whole guide first. The bonnet needs to be clean and dry, with no wax or polish where the bumpers go.
Fitting it, step by step
Step 1: Find the holes
Open the bonnet and find the four holes under the front edge. They line up with the four pre-drilled holes in the protector.
Step 2: Clip it on
Hold the protector in place and push the supplied push-pins through to hold it to the bonnet.
Step 3: Fit the protective bumpers
The protector must never touch the bonnet paint. The small adhesive bumpers make sure it doesn't.
- Work out where the bumpers will sit between the protector and the bonnet. The drawing below shows the best spots.
- Clean those spots with the alcohol wipes supplied and let them dry.
- Stick the bumpers on without touching the adhesive.
- Four bumpers come already stuck to the protector near the guards. Stick a round protective pad on the guard where each of those sits.

Checking the bonnet closes
Close the bonnet slowly the first time and check there's room between the bonnet and the grille. If it's tight, adjust the bonnet stops to give it more room.
- Close it by dropping it from about 15cm.
- If you need to push it shut, press on the bonnet, never on the protector.
- Check now and then that the bumpers are still in place and the protector isn't touching the paint.
